Key Duties and Responsibilities

Key Tasks
Allergen analysis from environmental samples, including air and dust, using ELISA and state-of-the-art multiplex techniques.
•  Receipt and logging of samples and allergen extraction.
•  Preparation of buffers, solutions, and reagents for use in experimental procedures and ELISA kits.
•  Adhere to the internal Quality Assurance System (QAS) and ISO 17025 standard.
Supporting development and management of the QAS.
Keeping lab equipment and facilities clean and in good working condition.
•  Follow standard operating procedures with consistency.
•  Keeping detailed laboratory notebooks and records .
Reporting the progress of all analyses, results, procedures, and experiments to senior team members.
•  Support lab staff on contract research projects, as necessary (e.g. preparation of natural allergen material).

Person Specification

Essential Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Requirements
A B.Sc. in biology, biotechnology, or related biomedical subject.
•  1 years experience of working within a laboratory.
•  Excellent time management and organizational skills.
•  High standard of communication skills.
•  Ability to work independently when required, but equally able to work effectively within a team.
•  Knowledge of software for word-processing, spreadsheets, databases.
