Exciting Opportunity for an analytical scientist to join a new team in Cardiff as an Applications Chemist!

Key Duties and Responsibilities

As Applications Chemist, you will work as part of a small team, focused on providing the best application support to our customers. Your work will involve:
Providing project support for a number of application support and method development programmes;
ullet Implementing bio-analytical assays for development of products;
ullet Developing methodologies and application notes for use with a growing range of company products;
ullet Supporting the account managers, providing technical support and responding to customer requests for advice, through appropriate means (i.e. online, phone, email etc.);
ullet Attending conferences and occasional customer site visits when needed.

Person Specification

We are ideally looking for someone from an environmental, food or pharmaceutical/CRO background. The successful candidate for this role will have:
at least an undergraduate degree in a related scientific discipline such as chemistry, forensics, clinical, environmental/food agriculture;
a reasonable amount of practical laboratory industry experience working in analytical chemistry/chromatography and application development;
•  experience with mass spectrometry (GC/MS, LC/MS) and/or other analytical techniques is required;
•  proven ability to work well both individually and as part of a small team;
•  the ability to keep accurate laboratory records and work in a neat and clean environment.
