Philips Ingenuity Core receives four-star ECRI Institute rating

Medical Company Product News

Philips has received a strong recommendation from the ECRI Institute for its Ingenuity Core computed tomography (CT) system.

The not-for-profit organisation's monthly Health Devices journal has awarded the device a four-star rating, thanks to its excellent iterative reconstruction technique iDose4.

According to the publication, this feature is praiseworthy as it allows optimal scanning parameters to be used consistently, ensuring high image quality with a minimal dose.

Other elements of Ingenuity Core that earned plaudits include its workflow integration, advanced applications and upgrade options, as well as the option that allows Philips application specialists to access the control console remotely.

The report noted: "Technologists can have timely access to expertise during difficult studies. Philips stresses that any such session can be initiated only by the facility, so that Philips cannot access protected patient information."

Earlier this month, the firm joined the corporate partnership programme of The King's Fund, an arrangement that will see the organisations working together to find ways of improving UK healthcare standards.
