Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced its Darwin Laboratory Information Management System (Lims) has been installed and validated at Europharma.

Darwin has been specifically designed for use in pharmaceutical manufacturing and in research and development, the company said – and it will be used in the production of human and veterinary drugs by Brazilian firm Europharma.

In addition, a chromatography data system - Thermo Scientific Atlas CDS – has been installed as part of the project.

Dave Champagne, vice-president and general manager of Informatics at Thermo Fisher Scientific, said the Lims and CDS scheme will improve Europharma's quality output and productivity further.

"This new relationship also enables us to grow in the Latin American region and offer these same benefits to our other pharmaceutical customers in the region, facing similar challenges," he added.
