Biosense Webster, a Johnson & Johnson company, has announced that it is to highlight its dedication to the field of electrophysiology this week at the annual scientific session of the Heart Rhythm Society.

At the meeting in Denver, the firm will exhibit a number of products aimed at the treatment of patients with cardiac arrhythmias.

These products include the CartoSound Module that will aid the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias by using a side-by-side display of intracardiac echogram and the NaviStar ThermoCool catheter to treat ventricular tachycardia following heart attacks.

Other products on show will be the bi-directional EZ steer catheter product line for use with the Carto XP system and the Carto Ready programme to better educate doctors of the interface of this system.

Roy Tanka, president of Biosense Webster, said: "This year's Heart Rhythm Society annual meeting will be an exciting time for electrophysiologists to learn more about the products and services we offer at Biosense Webster to help them treat their patients with a wide range of arrhythmias, from flutter to more complex conditions."

He added that the company offered physicians a wide range of treatment options to enhance patient care in the cardiovascular field.

Johnson & Johnson first announced the launch of the EZ Steer bi-directional catheter line in January 2007, with the firm reporting that its micro-tensioning system will ensure improved predictability and smoother deflection.
