Our client are a leading supplier of characterisation, measurement and analysis equipment looking to add an experienced engineer to their team. The role covers the South of England and offers the chance to be part of a tight-knit, family-orientated team with full OEM training provided in addition to the benefits listed below.


Role Overview

- Respond in a timely and professional manner to customers and colleagues regards the Service, Maintenance and Repair of high technology measurement and analysis equipment.
- Liaise with customers in person, via telephone or email to answer technical performance questions, arrange visits or specifiy and supply spare parts or replacement components.
- Be aware of and follow good Environmentla Health and Safety (EHS) practices at all times.
- Be prepared to travel wherever the customer equipment is located, mainly throughout the UK and Ireland.
- Over night stays may be required for Service visits and overseas training as required

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Install and optimise hardware/software products and configurations at customer sites
- Diagnose and resolve product performance problems
- Perform maintenance and repairs
- Calibrate customer equipment according to specifications
- Ensure customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations to optimise product performance
- Proactively respond to potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business
- Provide technical support to customers via phone and email
- Provide training as required
- Maintain records and input data into cloud based data systems


Person Specification

- A Bachelors or master's degree within the science field -- e.g. chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology or similar experience
- 2+ years of experience in a similar position
- Experience or expertise with Spectroscopy or Chromatography (UV,FTIR,FL,Pol, CD)
- Experience with troubleshooting and problem solving
- Excellent inter-personal, self-motivational, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with different priorities
- Ability to interact with customers and co-workers at a professional level and be able to work independently
- You enjoy travelling and visiting customers
