We had our cake and ate it at this year's coffee morning

Zenopa’s all caked out at this year’s biggest coffee morning to raise money Macmillan Cancer Support. 

The Zenopa team dusted off their baking skills and found their inner Mary Berry, baking brownies, cupcakes, cheeses scones, a pistachio and pomegranate cake, chocolate fudge cake and sticky toffee cake for all to indulge for this year’s world biggest coffee morning.

“We are delighted to be taking part again in this year’s coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer,” said Managing Director Mark Denton, “This charity is very close to many of our teams hearts, as Macmillan have supported many of their loved ones through their diagnosis, so we aim to raise as much money as possible.”

The first coffee morning was hosted back in 1990, as a very small but simple idea; guest would donate the cost of their cup of tea or coffee to Macmillan. The idea was so effective that the charity decided to do it again the next year, only this time make it a national affair. Now in its 28th year, this event has raised over £200 million.

Macmillan’s ambition is to provide support to those who have been diagnosed with cancer, and understand what is needed for each individual to be able to live their lives as fully as possible.

We have managed to raise £75 from our coffee morning. This money could help pay for two Macmillan Grants, enabling individuals who has been diagnosed with cancer to each be able to purchase a microwave oven. This purchase will make food preparation easier when they are experiencing fatigue and tiredness from treatments.
